Rake School going Old Skool
Below you will find documents which were developed pre-NC2014 (even pre-NNS!). However, there is a non-Gove trove of games and investigations which have a lot of potential for developing reasoning, as per the aims of NC14. Also, there are some great things that could be used to stretch those in class who have mastered a concept, (again in line with the ethos of NC2014 for Maths)
"Pupils' Workshop"- 105 pages. Investigations with grids, polygons, numbers, cubes, calculators, squares, circles, digits, with a few games thrown in for (challenging) fun.
"Starting Investigations"- 98 pages. Geared towards KS1 (and useful for "emerging" at lower KS2). The contents section makes it easy to navigate concepts within the strands of maths curriculum
"Go Further with Investigations"- 98 pages. Next in the series (Starting Investigations), but not so good in terms of open ended tasks. Some good- mostly lower KS2
